Mission & Vision

Go therefore and make disciples...

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and MAKE DISCIPLES of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”— Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)

[Jesus] said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”— Matthew 22:37-40 (ESV)

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.— Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)

The Mission

The mission of Canaan Baptist Church is connecting you to what matters most—God, people, and purpose.

Connect to God.

Knowing God through weekly worship, prayer, and teaching.

Connect to people.

Making disciples and experiencing community in weekly Connection Group (small group) gatherings.

Connect to purpose.

Living on mission through missions, evangelism, and serving.
In order to fulfill our mission we must prioritize what is good and honorable to God. Learn more about these priorities (core values) here.

The Vision

The vision of Canaan Baptist Church is to passionately pursue God's calling for our unified church family—we will take as many people to heaven with us as possible.
“If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.”

— Charles H. Spurgeon
