What is baptism?

Baptism is a picture and an illustration—a symbolic act of having already given one’s life to follow Jesus Christ. Baptism by immersion best illustrates the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ on our behalf and our subsequent faith in Him. It is not necessary for salvation, but is strongly associated with salvation as it best illustrates our new identity with Jesus Christ.

Who should be baptized?

We believe that baptism is an important step of obedience for every Christ-follower. If you've made the decision to follow Christ but have not been baptized, we invite you to do so.

When all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized. As He was praying, heaven opened... — Luke 3:21

Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the pledge of a good conscience toward God) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. — 1 Peter 3:21
